Week 10 | Welcome to Quarter 2!
Dear Parents,
Can you believe your student's year is already one-fourth of the way over? Time sure flies it seems. I have loved every minute here at SHCS, and I hope your student has, too. I am still overwhelmed with gratitude for getting to be here.
Our Vision Statement
The vision of Sacred Heart Catholic School is a community of eager and enthusiastic learners whose love of God encompasses all aspects of their lives, a highly qualified and loving staff, and families dedicated to academic achievement.
We sure are blessed with eager and enthusiastic learners! Seeing our students' happy faces first thing in the morning, excited about being at our school, is one of the best parts of the day. Our school's love of God is evident at morning prayer, and throughout the day as our loving staff interacts with our students. We are so thankful for our dedicated families, who support all aspects of our school. Our Vision Statement is more than just a vision at SHCS; it is our reality.
It's Book Fair Time!
Thanks to Mrs. S for organizing our Book Fair, which starts today. Students can shop for books and other items at lunch and after school. From Scholastic:
This year, say goodbye to giving your kids crumpled bills and loose change...and hello to eWallet, a super-convenient, secure digital payment account, for the Scholastic Book Fair. Setting up an eWallet for your child empowers them to choose their own books and effortlessly check out during the Best.Week.Ever at their school.
The eWallet is definitely a great option, but I know Mrs. S will accept your "crumpled bills and loose change," too!
Family Fun Night
This Friday night is Family Fun Night from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Mrs. S. plans this fun family event in conjunction with our Book Fair. Come shop the book fair and play some Brothers Grimm themed family activities. There will be refreshments for sale in the gym by the 8th graders. This is another of their fundraisers to raise money for their Legacy Project.
Brothers Grimm Door Decorations
Please take time this week to walk the halls in the main building to see our doors that are decorated in this year's family fun night theme of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales. Perhaps you can come in with your student and join us for morning prayer one day this week, then walk our halls to see the doors!
Report Cards
Quarter 1 Report Cards will be printed and sent home with your student on Wednesday of this week. Remember to check Gradelink for individual assignment grades.
Early Release Friday
Students will be dismissed at 1:00 PM on Friday.
We will
have before school care with Mrs. Rita but
we will not
have after-school care because of staff training on safety procedures.
8th Grade Pizza Sale
Our next pizza sale at lunch with the 8th graders is Monday, October 23. Thank you for supporting this to help fund the 8th graders' Legacy Project. Pizza is $2.00 per slice, and includes a drink and cookie for each student who participates. We will have plain cheese pizza and pepperoni.
Color
Run
Our Color Run is quickly approaching! Thank you for helping your student secure sponsors for this very important fundraiser. Coach Katie's goal is to raise $50,000 to help our school. Please let us know if you did not receive your student's link for online donations.
Halloween
Trunk or Treat will be Tuesday, October 31. Students will be allowed to dress up as they have in the past, and we will have our costume parade through the main building, then over to Father Tim's for his story. Look for information from your student's teacher regarding plans for Trunk or Treat.
Thank you for trusting Sacred Heart Catholic School with your student. I hope you have a great week.
