Week 13 | November 6 - 10, 2023
Dear Parents,
At Sacred Heart Catholic School, we believe that "Service is an essential part of the education of our students." Our students are called upon to provide the service of leading morning prayer, participate in various parts of mass, and to help others as needed. Helping our students to have a servant's heart is one of the many skills our teachers demonstrate and teach our students. Tomorrow, Monday, November 6, we start our school-wide service project for
Works of Mercy. We would like to have 100% student participation in supporting three organizations that provide tremendous services to people in our community. Your student should have brought home a colorful flyer with information for his or her grade level that Ashley Maxwell provided; they are also attached. Our teachers will begin collecting items tomorrow. On Friday, November 17 at 1:00 PM, we would like to have as many parents as possible to deliver the items collected to the organizations.
Will you please reply to this email if you are able to deliver?
- Students in pre-school through 1st grade are asked to donate items to Birthright. The director said they need new baby items, like newborn and 3 - 6 month clothes, diapers, wipes... They also need new or used clothing in sizes 18 months to 2T. They need jackets in all sizes as well.
- Students in 2nd through 4th grades are asked to bring food for PATH. They ACCEPT DONATIONS OF NON- PERISHABLE FOOD IN BOXES, JARS, AND CANS. They RECOMMEND SAUCES, PASTA, SOUPS, BEANS, RICE, PEANUT BUTTER, VEGETABLES AND FRUIT.
- Students in grades 5 through 8 are asked to bring clothing for Catholic Charities. Items needed include socks, gloves, hats, coats, and blankets.
Color Run
Our Color Run was a great success! Our students raised almost $31,000...wow! Awards were given out at morning prayer on Friday and popsicles were given out at lunch to celebrate
everyone's efforts Thank you to Coach Katie for organizing this event; thank you to Ms. Carla for taking care of all the money; and thank you to everyone who helped this be a very successful fundraiser.
Our parents and volunteers are essential to the success of everything we do.
8th Grade Pizza Sale
The 8th graders will sell Little Caesar's pizza again this Monday. The cost is $2.00 per slice and we have plain cheese and pepperoni. Each student who buys pizza will also receive a Capri Sun and a cookie. The money raised is being used to fund the 8th graders' Legacy Project.
